Module 1 – Understanding Behaviour That Challenges

Preventative, proactive and responsive strategies to manage challenging behaviours. Using Mindset-led Integrative Therapeutic Practice (Positive behaviour support-informed, trauma-aware and cognitively skilled).​​

Module 2 – Personal Safety & Breakaway Skills

Personal safety and Non-restrictive physical skills – defence and breakaway. This module focuses on keeping staff safe without the use of restraint. Learners develop practical breakaway skills, improve awareness, and build confidence in responding early to reduce escalation. The emphasis is on prevention and safe disengagement. 

Module 3 – Restrictive Physical Interventions 

Standard and advanced restrictive physical skills. This module introduces restrictive interventions as a last resort. Staff learn safe, team-based techniques alongside clear decision-making and communication during incidents. The focus is on safety, proportionality, and maintaining dignity.

Module 4 – Restrictive Physical Interventions (Advanced)

Standard and advanced restrictive physical skills. This module develops advanced skills, interventions and managing more complex situations. It strengthens teamwork, adaptability, and safe resolution of incidents. The focus remains on reducing risk and ensuring safe outcomes.
